Purpose
This policy details a standardized, holistic academic program evaluation process, including key evaluation criteria and evidence to be used for program evaluation. UHSP needs to measure and evaluate academic program performance on a periodic basis to make data-driven decisions, allowing the University to nimbly allocate its resources to ensure ongoing success of the University. Decision options include:
- Pause/Sunset/Close the Program
- Consolidate the Program into another Program
- Make Strategic Investment in the Program to Grow or Improve the Program
- Make Improvements in the Program without Strategic Investment Needed
- Continue the Program as is
Academic program evaluation - beyond quality measures and accreditation compliance - is of paramount importance to ensure that we deliver academic programs that align with our mission, are of high quality, and meet both student and employer needs.
